Today’s Reflection.
God gave us life and put us where we are for a reason.
No creation and placement is without a purpose.
We must identify that purpose as our mission and respond to God by accomplishing that mission.
That purpose even predates our birth, as Isaiah, who was called to be a prophet, noted in today’s First Reading. Also, that mission must be accomplished in total obedience and humility like john the Baptist in the Gospel and Saint Paul, in the second reading.
God put us wherever we find ourselves, irrespective of the context (family, classroom, church, workplace, and our communities), for a reason; and he also provides all that we need to accomplish our mission in our God-given role if we but respond wholeheartedly.
Here I am Lord, I come to do your will. Lord, thank you for your wonderful gifts.
Help me to use them according to your dictates.
