Baptism of Children

Welcome to the Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism is the first and foundational sacrament of the Catholic Church. It welcomes children into the family of God, cleanses them from original sin, and marks the beginning of their Christian journey. At St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Lugbe, we are honored to help parents and godparents prepare for this sacred celebration.

Who Can Be Baptized?

Infants and young children under the age of seven can receive the Sacrament of Baptism. Children above seven years old will need to go through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) before being baptized.

Requirements for Infant Baptism

To ensure a meaningful baptism, parents are required to:

  • Register their child for baptism at the Parish Office.
